'Plant-Based P*ssy' (working title) - exploring the intricate relationship between sexual abuse, menstration, and fractals of the memory - when the dog is the only god who will listen.
Originally commissioned as a monologue by the Kings Head Theatre in August 2023 to be performed as a response to the Vagina Monologues at the closing event of the original pub theatre. Workshopped by Amy-Rose Edlyn (writer and performer) with Emilia Nurmukhamet directing. More recently in January 2024, a developed version was workshopped and performed as the opening of the new Kings Head theatre cabaret space with director, Venus Raven as part of Bold Mellon X Fetish Theatre’s ‘Pick N Mix’ showcase.
Edlyn and Raven are multidisciplinary artists and theatre makers focussed on tackling challenging subjects to create social change, push boundaries and explore complex human psychologies, sexuality and gender. They will be continuing a research and development phase as part of Bold Mellon’s artistic residency at Ugly Duck in February and March 2024.
